Retreat Overview
An immersion in presence, nature, and embodied living
Wild Presence is a 7-night journey through Zimbabwe and Botswana — designed to reconnect you with your deeper rhythm.
We begin at Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Here, a vast curtain of water pours into the Zambezi Gorge with breathtaking force — an initiation into awe, humility, and perspective. Standing before something so immense softens the ego and awakens the senses. It will be a powerful way to begin.
From the thunder of the Falls, we move toward stillness — traveling into the quiet expansiveness of Botswana and settling into Munga Plains for six nights immersed in the Savannah.
Our days unfold in rhythm with the land — sunrise yoga in open-air spaces, guided game drives and bush walks, and meaningful connection with local communities.
Here, schedules soften. Senses awaken. Presence becomes natural.
All logistics from arrival in Victoria Falls onward are thoughtfully arranged — airport pickup, accommodations, meals, transfers, and guided experiences — so you can simply arrive, exhale, and be fully present in the journey from the beginning.
This retreat is for those who feel called to:
Reconnect with their body and intuition
Experience nature in a raw, respectful, and intimate way
Step outside routine and into wonder
Share a meaningful journey that will ripple well beyond closing ceremony
Bring your curiosity, openness, and sense of adventure.

Teacher + FacilitatorIt is my joy and passion to share the practice of yoga. Knowing how much it goes beyond the physical practice, I am fortunate to witness how it can change lives, just as it has changed mine.
Flow freely, live fully
Hi, I’m Emily Eileen — yoga teacher, mentor, retreat leader, and founder of Flowee.
I created Flowee as a space to move more freely, feel more deeply, and live in closer relationship with ourselves and the world around us. My teaching is rooted in presence, curiosity, and connection, with an emphasis on yoga as a lived practice — one that extends far beyond the mat.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2016 and have guided retreats and teacher trainings around the world. What continually draws me back to this work is the way place shapes practice. Wild landscapes have a powerful way of inviting humility, awareness, and truth — and Zimbabwe & Botswana offer this in a way that feels both grounding and expansive.
In my classes, you can expect creative, breath-led movement, thoughtful pacing, and plenty of space to explore your own rhythm. I’m not here to “fix” or perfect — my role is to hold a steady, supportive container where your experience can unfold naturally.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me outdoors — surfing, hiking, journaling, or soaking up quiet moments in nature. These rhythms deeply inform how I teach and how I hold retreat spaces.
My hope for Wild Presence is simple: that time in the wild helps you listen more closely, soften into yourself, and reconnect with what feels most true — so you return home feeling grounded, clear, and alive.
Your questions, answered

Botswana is widely regarded as one of the safest, most stable, and most welcoming countries in Africa, with a long-standing commitment to conservation, responsible tourism, and community-led travel. It has a strong tourism infrastructure and is known for hosting travelers from around the world who come to experience its extraordinary landscapes and wildlife with care and respect.
What makes Botswana especially unique is its low-impact, high-integrity approach to tourism. Rather than mass travel, the country prioritizes small-group experiences that protect the land, honor local communities, and allow visitors to move slowly and intentionally through the wilderness. This creates a sense of ease, safety, and spaciousness — both logistically and energetically.
Held near Chobe National Park, this retreat takes place in a region known for its abundant wildlife, expansive floodplains, and deep stillness. Supported by experienced local guides and trusted partners on the ground, guests can relax into the experience knowing they are well cared for — free to focus on presence, connection, and the simple beauty of being here.
-
No prior yoga experience is required. This retreat is designed to support all levels — from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Classes are thoughtfully guided with options and encouragement for every body, emphasizing presence, awareness, and self-connection over any particular shape or pose.
-
Wild Presence is open to all — adults of any age, any gender, couples or solo travelers, experienced yogis and curious beginners alike. What matters most is a willingness to show up with curiosity, an open heart, and a desire to explore yourself in relationship with the wild world around you.
This retreat is especially for those who feel the quiet (or not-so-quiet) pull toward a bucket-list adventure — something meaningful, expansive, and unforgettable. For those who have dreamed of witnessing elephants at sunrise, feeling the mist of Victoria Falls on their skin, or hearing lions in the distance under a starlit sky.
It’s for anyone ready for an experience that shifts perspective — that stretches comfort zones, deepens gratitude, and reconnects you with what feels raw, real, and alive.
Wild Presence is not just a vacation. It’s an invitation into something life-changing.

Zimbabwe: Yes — Canadian passport holders do need a visa to enter Zimbabwe for tourism purposes.
Visas are required regardless of nationality in most cases, and for Canadians they are typically issued at port of entry for a fee (approx $30-$50 USD). Because you’re entering Zimbabwe, crossing into Botswana, and then returning to exit via Zimbabwe, you’ll want a double-entry visa (or a multiple-entry option) so that you can re-enter Zimbabwe without difficulty. Ensuring the correct entry type for your itinerary can help avoid unnecessary delays once you’re on the ground.
Botswana: Canadian citizens do not need a visa to visit Botswana for short tourism stays (typically up to 90 days). You simply receive an entry stamp upon arrival as long as your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
Important tips:
Your passport should have at least 6 months validity and extra blank pages for stamps.
Visa policies can change, so we recommend checking the latest entry requirements with your local embassy or travel authority before departure.
-
Yes — safety is foundational to this experience.
Wild Presence is hosted in established, professionally operated safari regions in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, with trusted local partners and experienced teams guiding every step of the journey.
All wildlife activities — including game drives and river experiences — are led by licensed, highly trained, English-speaking safari guides who are deeply skilled at reading animal behavior and navigating encounters respectfully. You will always be accompanied in wildlife areas, whether in a custom safari vehicle or at camp, and strict safety protocols are followed at all times.
Safari vehicles are specifically designed for safe wildlife viewing, and guides are in constant communication with one another while out in the field. Our lodge and camp are secure, professionally run, and accustomed to hosting international guests.
Part of the magic of safari is proximity — witnessing animals in their natural habitat. That magic is held with deep respect, awareness, and professionalism. We are visitors in their home, and every experience is approached with care.

English is widely spoken in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, particularly in tourism areas — and all retreat logistics and guided experiences will be conducted in English.
In Zimbabwe, the most commonly spoken local languages are Shona and Ndebele, alongside English as an official language.
In Botswana, the national language is Setswana (Tswana), with English also serving as an official language and widely used in business and tourism settings.
While you won’t need to speak any local language to travel comfortably, you may hear these languages spoken by community members and staff — a beautiful reminder that we are guests in culturally rich and diverse regions.
If you’d like to learn a simple greeting before you go, here are two phrases in Setswana:
Hello (to one person) – Dumela (doo-meh-lah)
Hello (to a group) – Dumelang (doo-meh-lahng)
Thank you – Ke a leboga (keh ah leh-boh-gah)
Even a small effort to greet someone in their language is warmly appreciated :)
-
Wild Presence takes place in early April, which is early autumn in Southern Africa — a beautiful and comfortable time to visit.
You can generally expect:
Warm daytime temperatures (often in the mid-20s to low-30s°C)
Cooler mornings and evenings, especially on early game drives
Occasional light rain is possible, though rainy season typically ends in March
Safari days often begin early, when it can feel crisp and cool, and warm up significantly by midday. Layering is key — think light, breathable clothing for the day and a cozy layer for sunrise drives and evenings under the stars.
Closer to departure, you’ll receive a detailed packing guide tailored to the season.

Guests will fly into Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe. This is the most convenient entry point for the retreat, as our journey begins with our first night near Victoria Falls before continuing into Botswana.

Munga Plains is a safari retreat camp thoughtfully designed to honour both the land and the people who live here. Nestled on the edge of Chobe’s floodplains, it combines comfortable glamping accommodations with a deep reverence for nature — allowing you to fall asleep to the sounds of the wild while enjoying thoughtful amenities like ensuite tents, a pool, a communal lounge and dining area, and a dedicated yoga shala set against wide open plains.
Sustainability and community are at the heart of Munga Plains: structures are built with natural materials like wood, thatch, and canvas to minimize environmental impact; solar energy is used where possible; and the retreat works in partnership with local artisans and staff, honouring cultural heritage and supporting the well-being of the surrounding communities.
-
No — flights are not included.
This gives you flexibility to travel from your home airport and extend your trip if you wish. After booking, you’ll receive guidance on recommended flight windows to ensure seamless transfers and group coordination.

In Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), the US Dollar (USD) is widely used for tourism-related expenses.
In Botswana, the official currency is the Botswana Pula (BWP). Credit cards are commonly accepted at lodges, but having some small USD cash as well as some Pula on hand is helpful for tipping, small purchases, or markets.
